With our roots in the entertainment business, we build, operate, and grow direct-to-consumer e-commerce businesses with creators, artists and brands.

Mainfactor is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our talented team at our fast-growing, venture-backed, experienced e-commerce company. In this role, you will report to and support our Head of Finance in: preparing financial statements, investor reporting, creating client statements, tracking Accounts Payable, tracking Accounts Receivable, cash analyses, sales tax submissions, invoicing, and generally supporting the finance needs of our dynamic businesses.

You will be responsible for preparing our monthly sales tax reports for submission. You will report directly to our Head of Finance and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of client and vendor account balances. We are looking for someone who thrives in the dynamic environment of early- stage growth, and is a creative and collaborative problem solver. This role includes access to highly confidential information and it is essential that you understand the importance of confidentiality.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Preparing monthly financial statements for clients
• Collaborating with each client to obtain supporting documents
• Tracking expenses
• Working with our team to reconcile expenses for statements and applicable invoicing
• Analyzing Cash Flows
• Working with an assigned team on building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
• Reconciling and preparing monthly sales tax submissions to third party compliance software
• Maintaining up to date Accounts Receivable and payable balance
• Tracking and reporting on Accounts Receivable, Account Payable
• Creating and issuing invoices
• Assist in implementing efficient cost of goods sold process
• Helping prepare reports and analyses
• Generally supporting any finance needs of our Head of Finance, our CEO and management team

Who You Are:

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Experience using QuickBooks
• Previous work in e-commerce preferred, especially Shopify and PayPal. Experience in music or entertainment e-commerce and merchandise businesses is a plus!
• Must work well with a remote team – proactive & open communicating potential issues/problems and sharing information early and often
• Must be independently organized—someone who loves to keep track of details and keep things in order will do well in this role
• Strong verbal & written communication skills for a business audience
• You have an outstanding attention to detail and are comfortable adjusting your approach to work within a project timeline, if necessary
• You take responsibility for the quality of work that you deliver
